We had some sad news this summer. One of our sponsored children Jumie sadly passed away she was only 7 years old

Jumie had a heart condition that if she had lived in the UK would have been treated at birth & she would have been fit & well. In Gambia there is no such treatment, every hospital visit costs £5 just to be seen by a Dr & then you must pay for medicines. Winged Dreams was able to help her have regular hospital visits and the medicine she needed! Sadly her heart just wasn’t strong enough.

Jumie was able to have her dream of a pair of shoes and that enabled her to go to school thanks to her sponsorship.  She touched everyone who met her especially our Founder Carol Pearce who is pictured here with Jumie in February 2015. Her 3 brothers and 2 sisters are still grieving & we hope to find a sponsor for them to enable them to attend school too!
