Carol Pearce first visited the country in 1998. During her time there she witnessed first-hand the extreme poverty and death that is the norm for ordinary Gambians.
Carol also realised the impact just a small amount of help can have on whole communities. Winged Dreams was born.
More visits followed, and in 2013 Winged Dreams became a registered charity. We sponsor individual children as well as small communities in Gambia through our local Ambassadors, and projects such as Football and our small business grants.
You can make a difference
There are many ways in which you can support Winged Dreams and see for yourself the difference we are making. Here are just some of the ways you can help:
- £25 buys a 50kg sack of rice to feed a whole family for one month
- Access to hospital or vital medication costs just £5
- Sponsor an adult or a child from just £25 a month
- Support our Football programme
